Hylton Gott Ltd - Volvo, Subaru and Isuzu

Last year’s Richard Burns Memorial Rally was not without its doubters, including me as one of the main sponsors!  The task of closing the biggest fully-operational RAF base for 3 days, running a 100-mile stage rally, with thousands of paying spectators and raising huge sums of money to be divided between two worthy charities seemed impossible; throw in a party including rock bands, good food and beer, a VIP evening for selected guests and it was without doubt a mammoth task.  Remember the base had to be operational again on Monday!  It did go ahead and the rest is history. 

From a sponsor and entrant’s viewpoint the event was fantastic.  It was perfectly co-ordinated by the Kings Lynn & District Motor Club and the RAF and surpassed all of my expectations.  Indeed, I think the sight of Richard’s father Alex Burns overwhelmed by the generosity of the club and competitors during his thank you speech genuinely moved everybody lucky enough to be watching.

This year’s event promises to be even better with a little tweaking by the experienced team and offers excellent value when the whole package is taken into consideration.

So enter, enjoy and whilst doing so let’s bring a tear to Alex again!
